About

The Frenchman Jacques Alexandre is one of the very great photographers in Europe today. He received his artistic training at the Academy of Fine Arts in France and his photographic training at the State College of Photography in Cologne, Germany (Graduated Photo-Designer). He is living in both, France and Germany.


Numerous awards and publications around the globe have established Jacques Alexandre as an important name in the world of photography (e.g. he won the 1st Award of the Photo Contest by the French-German Youth Organisation OFAJ/DFJW, then the Award of the Asahi Pentax World Photo Contest and also the Kodak Photo Book Award for his children book "The Little Red Cat" published by Reich / Switzerland). His artistic photography is published worldwide: 4 photo books in Japan, 2 photo books in Germany, and thousands calendars, posters, postcards, puzzles, stationery products and covers of magazines and books.


His two main artistic styles were presented at the "Jacques Alexandre exhibition" 1996 in the Photographic Museum Langner in Leipzig/ Germany,: First his "Impressionism Period" in the 70th, influenced by the Romantic and the Impressionism Painting, and then his "Hyperrealism period" starting in the 80th, with straight composition and strong colours.


Jacques Alexandre is contributor worldwide to the leading advertising and stock agencies, magazines and publishers. Alexandre photographs with the aesthetic sensitivity that is so characteristic of him. The diversity of his imagery is evidence of great creativity and acute sensibility.
